Over the space of four hours, we will address the opportunities, risks and potential outcomes of using social media in healthcare, including:

• Risk management practices
• Implementing privacy policies

It is aimed at staff who hold communications, management or leadership roles in health or aged care.
Dr Leanne Downing, Director, Affect Media
Leanne is a Melbourne based communications and public relations consultant specialising in health and aged care communications. She holds a PhD in media communications (2005) and is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Human Biosciences at La Trobe University. Over the past ten years Leanne has provided research, strategic advice and communications campaigns for some of Australia’s leading hospitals, insurers, law firms and universities.
Jacinda de Witts Principal and Founder, Hive Legal
Jacinda provides corporate, commercial, regulatory and risk advice to clients in highly regulated industries such as health and government. Her expertise includes M&A, joint ventures, corporate governance, regulatory advice and commercial risk management. Jacinda is a regular speaker at health conferences and is often asked to comment on key legal issues affecting the health cipro sector. She has previously been quoted in the AFR as a legal health commentator on issues such as the use of social media. She is also a director of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
